F28  SUPPORT

Please note that we have successfully tested the F28 v1 software with a 'clean' FS2004 running on a Windows XP system. If none of the solutions from hereunder do solve your problem, then let us know by e-mail.

  1. New weblink to download Ecuador Nav charts for the Flight Tutorial
    Download the charts from here.

  2. Autoland tooltip says "Aircraft too low to land"
Manual par. 3.2.4 says that conditions to activate AutoLand should be 3,000 to 3,500 feet AGL. Remember this is Above Ground Level (AGL) and thus not Above Sea Level (ASL). So, if the airport elevation is in mountainous terrain you should consider using the Radio Alitimeter.

  3. Frame-rate problem (stuttering)
There maybe two possible solutions to resolve this. We recommend you check both and see which is best for you.

    a) Disable the engine smoke effects.
Go to your FS9 .../Effects  folder and rename the file
PFJ Fokker F28_Smoke.fx into e.g.  PFJ Fokker F28_SmokeDISABLED.fx

    b) Disable the Radio/CD player gauge from the UPPER-panel.
Open panel.cfg and locate gauge10 under header [window01]. Include
two slashes at the beginning of the entry line to read as:
                // gauge10=radiocd4!radiocd, 89,661,239,75

  4. Missing gauges?
You may have removed some standard FS9 aircraft in the past. The F28 makes use of some of the standard FS9 gauges. Another possibility is that you may have manually moved F28 files/ directories.  Re-install the software if you still have problems.

  5. Engine fan blades do not turn
Yes they do! But what you do not see turning are the fixed stator-blades at the inlet of the engines. Behind those are another set of fan blades which are turning. You can see them turning when in spot-view at the moment you start the engines. Here is a photo showing the inlet of an F28 engine with fix stator blades at the front and fan blades behind.

  6. Where are the FMC and VC?
The real F28 does not have an FMC. This F28 base package does not include a VC.

  7. Does it support FSX?
FSX is a different platform. We started developing the F28 long before FSX came out. And to suit most of our FS friends who do not have powerful PC's for FSX to run smoothly, we decided to stick with FS9 for the moment.
